All of a sudden

In the twinkling of an eye

Christians of late, believe that there has been an increase in persecution towards them for their beliefs. It’s not evident, however, that there is more persecution toward them than with any other religion at this time in history. Muslims may not agree as they seem to be getting their fair share. The Jews throughout history have had to deal with persecution as well. The Wiegers in china at this time are definitely getting persecuted. When studied independently most religions appear to have similar foundational beliefs. Peace and love for their fellow man, treating others as they want to be treated themselves. So it doesn’t seem logical that any one religion should put its beliefs above another as they all appear to profess service to others as high on the list.
Perhaps it’s time to look at the multitude of different religious beliefs and see how we should be incorporating their teachings into our society. Except for the color of our skin, there is basically no physical difference between us all. We are humans to the bone. If we were to follow scripture, perhaps there are certain responsibilities that we should be taking into consideration for the safety of our fellow man regardless of their beliefs.
For instance, in Christianity, there will be, for the true believers, a time of Harpazo or Rapturo. A time of Snatching or taking away. Some call it the Rapture, although that word is not found in the bible but is prophesized that it will happen “In the twinkling of an eye”. If we are to respect this belief as a fact, and with the Christian belief that helping their fellow man is truly one of the highest priorities of their religion, then we should structure our society in a more complementary way. For instance, for every Christian who works in a dangerous field we should institute safeguards for when, “In the twinkling of an eye”, true believers are raised up to meet Jesus in the clouds. A good example, A Christian surgeon would have to have another Surgeon of the Muslim faith standing by to jump in and take over before the scalpel hits the floor. Another example would be that no Christian would be allowed to be the pilot-in-command of an aircraft without a Buddhist Co-pilot ready to take control at a moment’s notice. Some careers will have to be off-limits for Christians altogether. Truck drivers or operators of any motor vehicle for that matter. Any job that if left unattended could create an environment for injury or death such as a nuclear power plant operator, ski lift attendant, most amusement ride operators, etc…
True Christian believers will not have any problem with these new restrictions as it would be their honor to be looking out for their fellow man, which, after all, was a true tenant of Jesus’s teachings. There are plenty of job opportunities for Christians if we implement these kinds of restrictions. Such as Gardner, Secretary, Senator, Janitor, hairdresser, even a greeter at Walmart. These are just a few examples of jobs that if a person were to be suddenly removed it would only be of a slight, short-lived inconvenience. I’m sure that if we examine all religions we will find similar beliefs that we could and should find ways to safeguard the rest of society from. After all, those left behind must be considered sinners in the eyes of whoever’s creator we are following.
In the end, we should respect each other’s beliefs as we would like ours to be respected. But in reality, all our humanism is to the bone and all our religious beliefs are just that, beliefs.
