Christ or Anti-Christ Consciousness?
The second coming of Christ is prophesied to be a time when, upon his arrival, it will herald the beginning of a thousand years of peace. Are we anticipating the return of the man, our savior, who died for our sins? Or should we be anticipating a time of Christ-consciousness? Thus creating the thousand years of peace as we accept his teachings in our hearts while expressing them in our daily lives? Since he lived the last years of his life as an example of what he taught, even forgiving his persecutors right up until his last breath, I lean toward a Christ consciousness rather than him strolling down the street. In these current times, he could be deported for the lack of proper documentation. That being said, it is heartening to see that some of the most powerful people in our government, who identify themselves as Christians, do have the power to enact the teachings of Jesus through the elected offices they hold.
In Texas, they are so committed to these teachings that they recently passed a bill that makes it mandatory to display the Ten Commandments in every classroom in public schools. The philosophy is that exposing children to them daily will have a lasting effect on their personal growth and learning.
Another belief in prophecy is that before the return of Christ, there will be another, an Anti-Christ, who, as a man, will be a charismatic figure who will beckon us to follow him. And by doing so, all our troubles will be taken care of. Enabling us all to become rich like him. Unfortunately, following this individual’s lack of morality creates a trickle-down immorality effect. This creates an anti-Christ consciousness, but on the positive side, allows us to separate true Christians from the Chrinos (Christians in name only). Is this what we are experiencing now? Are the advocates for putting up the Ten Commandments in schools the same people voting down free breakfast and lunches for the children in the same schools? In other states like Minnesota, it is mandatory by law to make available breakfast and lunch for children in public schools. Is restricting a woman’s domain over her own body concerning an unborn child Christ-like? Even though the bible proclaims the child is not a human until the Lord breathes the breath of life into its nostrils, Genesis 2-7 “the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.“. For those less knowledgeable about when a child takes its first breath, it’s after it has emerged from the womb; until then, it is an extension of the woman. There is a large number of Chrinos claiming to be pro-life when, in all actuality, they are only pro-birth. If you can only commit to defending the actual birth but are not willing to support that child with health care after the cord is cut, then your commitment is only halfway to pro-life. Will you join this trickle-down immorality being supported by the Chrinos in government, who proclaim this to be a Christian nation? At the same time, they, with eyes wide open, create the same situations that Jesus himself said were the very problems that needed to be eliminated? At this time in history, the most powerful government in the world has the ability, through a Christ consciousness to eliminate poverty, hunger, homelessness, and inequality, thus creating the kingdom of heaven right here on earth. If the time does come when the man we recognize as Jesus the Christ arrives, will he be able to look around with a smile and tell us,
“Very good, you got it right.
My father is very happy.”
